Last year for Halloween I made a Halloween mirror using waterslide paper to create the effect of a skull looking out of a mirror. It was very popular as well a creepy some said. One comment that I got stuck with me. The comment was, that it would have looked better if the skull looked like it was coming out of the mirror.
With Halloween fast approaching everyone is on the lookout for new ideas to decorate there home. I wanted to try and make a unique Halloween mirror this year. Even though it is only one night many people like to make the most of it and either have a party or go trick or treating. I had this mirror at home which was pretty boring but I really loved the frame.
Here in Australia Halloween has only become popular in the last few years. In our small town, you can not go trick or treating to any random house. You have to put up a display so people know you are taking part and will be handing out sweets. The idea behind this is that the old and the vulnerable do not feel intimidated by strangers knocking on their doors at night.

This is also a great project for beginners who would like to get into doing mixed media art. My idea for this project was to use a ceramic bottle and decorate it to look like my skull bottle was wearing clothes.
With Halloween just around the corner, it is time for all the creepy and spooky projects. In this project, I am sharing how I upcycled some aluminium drink cans into Shimmering Aluminum Can Art. My idea was to create an image of a star and then cover it with small circles cut from aluminium drink cans.
Apart from being a lover of DIY and I am also a mixed-media artist. I love to take everyday items and give them a mixed-media makeover. This was a shop mannequin that I was given which I decorated in a steampunk theme using lots of recycled materials. Once it was completed I felt it was missing something. I came up with the idea to make some large angel wings using real feathers.

This weeks post is our first IBC (International bloggers club) Challenge of 2022. Our theme this month is “Bodacious Books”, the challenge is to create a project using a book in some way. My idea for this project was to create a lamp with a book as the base. And if you follow my blog you will know I am steampunk mad, so it will be no surprise that I chose to make a steampunk-themed book for my lamp.
