I am a big lover of pets, and nothing is too good for my two little Jack Russell’s and a cat called Ginger. My cat and dog lived in harmony until our new Jack Russell came along. He made it his mission to chase the cat on sight and she had nowhere to hide. So, I wanted to make her somewhere to hide where he could not get her. I wanted a pet bed where she could hide but I wanted it still to look good in the house. I ended up with a great looking footstool that blends in with my home decor, and a perfect hideaway for the cat inside. I put the footstool close to the wall with the hole towards the wall so the cat can sleep in peace without the dogs harassing her.

I wanted them to have somewhere nice to sleep outside during the day while I am at work. I made them this mini mansion. I do not have a step by step tutorial for this because it was one of my early projects and I made it up as I went along. On the days in winter when it is cold, they can cuddle up inside the bottom. And on the nice sunny days, they can catch some sun rays upstairs on the balcony. The side of the staircase opens up and I store all the food inside. I had to put a latch on because my furry little friends could open the door by pulling on the rope, and they just helped themselves. I recently made these two spoilt dogs a cold water auto feeder, so they can have cold water on the hot summer days.
This mini chaise lounge I made for a friend to display her collection of dolls. But within days of me giving it to her, the cat took over the chaise lounge and made it his new home. This Chaise lounge was a mini version of my first build from scratch. I built it using mainly recycled materials I had lying around at home.

October 23, 2018 at 4:21 amMaking it up as I go along is how I do all my projects. Because I have no training I do make mistakes, and when that happens I just change the plan. That is why I will never take an order for anything. It is cute to see them sitting upstairs like they own the place.
