I am always on the lookout for free furniture, so I can repurpose them into something new and exciting. This old study desk was offered to me and straight away I knew it was going to be a Lego desk/ activity table.
This project was next on the list of projects my daughter wanted me to make for her new home. They are very spoilt and have a large spa in their back garden where they spend a lot of time. They ask if I could make them a Pallet Wall bar that they can mount on the wall next to the spa for drink and snacks while chilling in the spa. No more balancing that wine glass on the side of the spa only to be knocked over and good wine gets wasted.
I have had some wood slices sitting behind my shed for years now waiting for the perfect project to come along, and it finally did. I wanted to try and create an African bush themed wooden suncatcher. The idea was to have the background look like an African sunset, with a silhouette of the African bush. Depending on the light, the colours in the wooden suncatcher will look different from every angle.
I am in the process of trying to clean up my workshop to make more room for me to work in. Because I never say no to free wood, I have found myself crammed into one small section. To use up some of the smaller pieces of wood I am making a few different wooden Wall Hangings. This wall hanging was so much fun to make and making the design up as I went along made the design unique to me.
All my projects are made from recycled materials and on finding this table I was not sure at first what I was going to do with it. My daughter had just bought a beauty bar and loved the idea of having all her makeup and beauty supplies in one place. So that was what I decided to do, It would be a makeup beauty bar as they are called in Australia.
