They have done it again! The latest victim of my two Jack Russell terrorists was my beautiful terracotta pot. It has become a regular occurrence for them to destroy things around our home. I was hoping they would have outgrown that destructive stage by now, but no such luck. On a positive note, they do keep me in project ideas. And converting that broken terracotta pot into a planter was my next project.
It is time for our next International blogger club challenge (IBC) and this month’s theme was “Wired”. The challenge was to create something using wire, this DIY wire wind spinner was my contribution. This wire wind spinner was very quick and easy to make and looks great hanging in the tree in my garden. More about (IBC) at the end of this post.
I was at my Sisters house one day when I spotted a piece of wood under her carport. It was in pretty bad shape but it looked so interesting I want to see if I could make something out of it. My first thought was a wooden sign but we all do that with a nice piece of wood. I wanted something different. I decided on a wooden suncatcher, I had this idea in my head to drill holes in the wood and fill them with coloured epoxy resin.
I have had some wood slices sitting behind my shed for years now waiting for the perfect project to come along, and it finally did. I wanted to try and create an African bush themed wooden suncatcher. The idea was to have the background look like an African sunset, with a silhouette of the African bush. Depending on the light, the colours in the wooden suncatcher will look different from every angle.
