I don’t think this project will be a big surprise to people who follow my blog. Because I have been steampunk mad all this year, a steampunk Christmas tree was inevitable. The idea came from a comment on one of my other steampunk projects. A lady said it would be interesting to see what I come up with for Christmas and she was hoping it was a Christmas tree. I saw that as a challenge and after some thought this was what I came up with.
If you follow my blog you will know last year I started doing steampunk and now I am totally addicted to it. So with valentines day coming up a steampunk heart seemed like the most obvious choice of project. But I wanted to take it a step further and try and make a 3D steampunk heart out of cardboard.
Do you look at photos from other DIY Bloggers and get photo envy? I do all the time, they have such beautiful stage photos, they put mine to shame. In a bid to improve my photos I wanted to make some photography props for staging. Because I am steampunk mad at the moment, a steampunk prop camera was first on my list.
I always like to joke that I love wine and that they don’t make a glass big enough for me. So a few years back my friends bought me two of theses 1-litre wine glasses as a joke gift. The funny thing was the glasses were too big and heavy for me to hold, so they got pushed to the back of the cupboard. So with Halloween coming up, I thought I would upcycle them into A Halloween skull goblet that can be used a decoration on the table.
Yes, you guessed it, I am back again with another steampunk project. I have wanted to try and make a steampunk hat for a long time now but had no idea where to start. I was recently cleaning out my shed and found this empty bucket that I used for storing bits and bobs. Straight away a steampunk hat popped into my head, so I thought I would give it a try.
Have you ever walked into a shoe store and seen a great pair of shoes and they are reduced to $10 so you have to have them. You get home and put them on to find standing still in them is all you are capable of doing. That is what happened with these shoes, they were too high and I could not walk a step in them. I hated the idea of them going to waste so I gave them a makeover into a Stiletto ring holder. I am sure most of us ladies would love one of these Stiletto Ring Holders sitting on our dressers.
I am in the process of redecorating my spare room in a Steampunk theme, and no bedroom would be complete without a Lamp. So here is my version of a steampunk lamp with an added feature of a mixed media makeover. These lamps are made using galvanized or brass pipes and fitting and you can be as creative as you like with the design.
With Halloween fast approaching everyone is on the lookout for new ideas to decorate there home. I wanted to try and make a unique Halloween mirror this year. Even though it is only one night many people like to make the most of it and either have a party or go trick or treating. I had this mirror at home which was pretty boring but I really loved the frame.
