Last year for Halloween I made a Halloween mirror using waterslide paper to create the effect of a skull looking out of a mirror. It was very popular as well a creepy some said. One comment that I got stuck with me. The comment was, that it would have looked better if the skull looked like it was coming out of the mirror.
With Halloween coming around soon, it is time to start doing some Halloween decorations. Because it is only one day people want to keep their crafts quick and easy. And this project is just that. Another good thing about this method is, after Halloween, you can soak off the designs and paint and your glasses are back to normal.
A few years ago, I made a horse racing game for the residents at the aged care home where I work. This car racing game is based on the same idea. I have had many requests over the years from people asking for the printouts so they can make their own. For your convenience, I have included the PDFs for the cards needed to play this car racing game in the instructions below.
With Halloween fast approaching everyone is on the lookout for new ideas to decorate there home. I wanted to try and make a unique Halloween mirror this year. Even though it is only one night many people like to make the most of it and either have a party or go trick or treating. I had this mirror at home which was pretty boring but I really loved the frame.
I am always on the lookout for new projects to keep my website fresh and interesting. Mixed media is going to be the new craft I teach myself. Browsing through Pinterest I came across mixed media canvases. It was love at first sight. I went on youtube and watched a few tutorials and decided to have a go. To make it easier to get started I picked my daughter’s recent wedding as a theme. The idea was to use elements from for wedding and wedding day to decorate the canvas.
I was looking for ideas for a Father’s day gift that I could make using my Cricut. Many men in Australia have a man cave or a men’s shed as they call them. I thought a man cave sign with man cave rules would be a great idea. I looked online for ideas and most of the man cave signs were all made as not to offend others or worded to be politically correct.
Being a DIY blogger I am always trying to find the best light and background to photograph my projects. As we all know a good photo can make a big difference in how popular a project will be. If you have a boring photo there is a good chance people will not click on the link. While I was taking some photos the other day I noticed my wind chime was looking really drab and dull. So the wind chime became my next victim for a makeover.
