I always loved these trough party tables when I saw them on Pinterest. It was something I really wanted to try and make for my entertainment area.
We all know how expensive it is to buy a house, so buying new furniture to furnish it is out of the question. The previous owner left this dresser behind in the house and my daughter wanted me to give it a makeover.
I had recently given an old headboard a geometric design makeover and she wanted this dresser to match that design. When the dresser arrived it reminded me of the orders I receive from China, looks good in the pictures but rubbish in reality. But I have tackled worse than this dresser if this antique dresser was anything to go by.
Have you ever walked into a shoe store and seen a great pair of shoes and they are reduced to $10 so you have to have them. You get home and put them on to find standing still in them is all you are capable of doing. That is what happened with these shoes, they were too high and I could not walk a step in them. I hated the idea of them going to waste so I gave them a makeover into a Stiletto ring holder. I am sure most of us ladies would love one of these Stiletto Ring Holders sitting on our dressers.
I was browsing Pinterest the other day and came across a similar horseshoe towel rack. I clicked on the link had a quick look and then carried on browsing. Next thing I know my Newsfeed is flooded with horseshoe towel racks. So I took it as a sign that I should build one and give it my own unique touch.
I was recently given a few wooden pallets to make projects out from. They are a very cheap way to make projects because most of the time you can get the pallets for free. But there is a downside to working with them, the main one is you need to be Hercules to get them apart. I always thought I was strong until I tackled a pallet.
For the last few weeks, Pinterest has been flooding my newsfeed with DIY bird Feeders so I took it as a sign to make one. I am not a big fan of birds, but my sister loves them. On a daily basis, she has loads of king parrots that come to her house for feeding. She has been feeding them for so many years now they will even eat out of her hands.
Having a little great-niece that comes to visit on a regular basis I am inspired to try and make projects to entertain her. I have recently made a toddler’s craft table so I needed a zebra bench to go with it.
When I found some wine barrels at our local university for $50 I bought 5 of them. I wanted to try and make something different with each barrel. I looked on Pinterest for inspiration and saw one similar to this with a fire pit in the middle. This gave me the idea to add a wine bucket in the middle where your ice, wine and drinks can be stored while you are sitting around the table chatting. They were all mainly rustic which is not a look I like. The girly side of me wants my projects to look pretty so they will look great inside and out. This tutorial combines a few of my wine barrel tables showing tips and tricks I learnt along the way.
